Tools: Office & documents
UserThe assistant can read Office documents and PDFs and create new presentations, spreadsheets and Word documents. Which creation tools are available depends on the installation — in the desktop edition they are on by default, in the web edition they may be turned off.

Reading and privacy: ReadOfficeDocument and ReadPdfDocument read from the attached workspace. With the PII shield on, the text they read is pseudonymized like a chat attachment: the model only sees placeholders for names, IBANs or email addresses. When the assistant writes them into a file in the workspace, CompanyWizard puts the real values back. With the PII shield off, the text goes to the model unchanged. → The PII shield

Where the files land: In the desktop app, CreatePresentation, CreateSpreadsheet, FillWordTemplate and write_document save their file in the attached working folder, otherwise in the output folder; below the answer you open it from a file chip. The web edition offers a download link. For an agent with a storage target, the presentation, spreadsheet and filled Word template go into the target instead, with a vault target into the attachments/ subfolder. → Where does CompanyWizard save documents?, Chain agents
CreateSpreadsheet is not the Excel export: the tool puts together a new workbook — the model decides on the sheets and their content, and the result differs from run to run. The Excel export in the export dialog, by contrast, carries over exactly the tables you can see in the answer, deterministically, from the chat as well as the knowledge base. → Export a response as Excel
Image generation is not a tool: Generating images is an app feature of the interface, not a tool of the assistant — the AI cannot invoke it itself in a conversation. → Image generator
