Set up Scaleway Generative APIs

Scaleway Generative APIs is the AI inference service of the French cloud provider Scaleway — OpenAI-compatible, with processing in the Paris (fr-par) data center and zero retention by default. Whether Scaleway fits your situation is the job of the provider selection guide; this page only covers the setup.

Step 1 — get a secret key from Scaleway

1. In the Scaleway console, open IAM & API keys (top-right), tab API keys, + Generate API key.
2. The secret key is shown only once — copy it immediately. It is the bearer token for the Generative APIs.

Step 2 — store it in CompanyWizard

Scaleway has no dedicated catalog card; you add it as an OpenAI-compatible provider:

1. Administration → Models → + New provider.
2. Set Type to OpenAI (OpenAI-compatible) and enter the Scaleway base URL as the Endpoint: https://api.scaleway.ai/v1.
3. Enter the secret key from step 1 as the key, Test connection, and apply the models.

The data location (fr-par, France) is baked into the base URL — a separate region field is not needed. To restrict usage to a specific Scaleway project, use https://api.scaleway.ai/<PROJECT-ID>/v1/ as the endpoint instead. For details on OpenAI compatibility see Scaleway — OpenAI compatibility.
