Tools: workspace & Git (desktop)

User

In the desktop edition CompanyWizard can attach a local folder as a workspace. The assistant then searches, reads and writes files inside it — and, if the folder is a Git repository, can inspect its state. These tools exist only on desktop → Two deployment modes — web vs. desktop.

ToolPurposeTypeAvailable
Search workspace (WorkspaceSearch)Finds files and text passages in the workspace. PDFs, Office files and images are found by file name only.Readdesktop
Read file (WorkspaceRead)Opens a file from the workspace.Readdesktop
Git status (GitStatus)Shows changed, new and removed files.Readdesktop
Git log (GitLog)Lists the commit history.Readdesktop
Git diff (GitDiff)Shows concrete changes between revisions.Readdesktop
Write file (WorkspaceWrite)Creates or changes a file.Writedesktop

Sandbox: All access is confined to the attached folder — the assistant cannot break out of it. The Git tools only work when the attached folder is the root of a Git repository.

Created documents: When a working folder is attached, the document tools (presentation, spreadsheet, Word template, write_document) and the email attachment download also save their files there — in Plan mode too, because they never overwrite but number the files instead. → Where does CompanyWizard save documents?

Licence (Pro/Site): The Git tools (GitStatus, GitLog, GitDiff) are available in Pro and Site (not Free). Searching, reading and writing in the workspace folder remain available in all editions. → License & edition model

PII note: Reading text files from the workspace (incl. Git) is exempt from PII pseudonymization, so that file names, paths and code stay intact. The assistant reads PDFs and Office documents with tools of their own, and with the PII shield on their text is pseudonymized. → Office & documents → The PII shield

Assessing many files one by one: If several files in the workspace each have to be read and assessed (“check every invoice”), the assistant reads each one in a run of its own and gets a table with one row per file. → Tools: Process many files or mails one by one
