Try it with sample data

User

A fresh installation has no knowledge yet. So that you can try CompanyWizard with real content right away, we provide two ready-made sample knowledge bases. They take about ten minutes to import; then you try questions whose answers you can look up here.

What you get

Section titled “What you get”
  • Nordpfad Consulting — a fictional consultancy with 14 articles organised by the PARA method (Projects, Areas, Resources, Archive): project decisions, status reports, a leave policy, a definition of done and more.
  • Dubai Investment Portal — a fictional real-estate portal with some 50 articles: guides, FAQ, glossary, blog and investment areas, with cover images.
  • A quote PDF from the equally fictional Hanse Büromöbel GmbH, to attach in the chat.

All companies, people and figures are made up. You can import the samples and delete them again without risk.

Prerequisites

  • CompanyWizard is installed, you are signed in and a chat model answers. → Your first AI answer
  • An embedding model is set up. It prepares the texts for search; examples 2, 4 and 5 need it.
  • You have administrator rights, because you are about to create two vaults. On a single-workstation installation that is the account from the initial setup.

1. Download

Keep the ZIP files zipped — CompanyWizard takes them exactly as they are.

Safari on the Mac: if Settings → General → “Open ‘safe’ files after downloading” is on, Safari unzips ZIP files automatically. Turn the option off and download both ZIPs again. Chrome, Edge and Firefox do not unzip.

2. Import

Each sample goes into its own vault. That way nothing mixes with your later data, and you can remove the samples with one click at the end.

Create the vaults

  1. Left sidebar Admin → tab Vaults → + New Vault.
  2. Name Nordpfad (sample), Slug nordpfad-sample, Save.
  3. + New Vault once more: Name Dubai (sample), Slug dubai-sample, Save.

Upload the ZIPs

  1. Left sidebar Knowledge Base.
  2. At the top, at Vault:, choose Nordpfad (sample). Select nothing in the folder tree, so that the folders land at the top of the vault.
  3. Upload Knowledge (.zip) → nordpfad-en.zip. You see “Uploaded … file(s) successfully. Knowledge base indexing in progress…”.
  4. Same for Dubai (sample) with dubai-investment-en.zip.

The blue Indexing chip appears at the top. While it is visible, CompanyWizard prepares the texts for search. Depending on the embedding model this takes from a few minutes up to about half an hour. Examples 1 and 3 do not need the knowledge base — you can start with them right away.

3. Try it

Paste the prompts into a new chat (+ New Chat). The model words its answers differently every time. What to look for names the fact the answer should contain — not the exact wording.

Example 1 — A question with a follow-up

Explain in three sentences what a definition of done is in software development.

Then, in the same chat:

Summarise your answer in a single sentence.

What to look for: the answer appears word by word. The second answer refers to the first — the chat remembers the conversation.

Example 2 — A question to your knowledge, with a source

Wait until the Indexing chip has disappeared. The Knowledge Base toggle in the input area is on (default).

Which target platform did project Helios choose, and why?

Then, in the same chat:

How many days of annual leave do Nordpfad employees get, and by when must remaining leave be taken?

What to look for:

  • The first answer names Option B: an open-source CRM, self-hosted in the EU, and refers to ADR-001 – Choice of CRM Target Platform. Clicking the reference opens the article in the knowledge base.
  • The second answer names 30 days and 31 March of the following year and refers to the Leave and Absence Policy.

The knowledge comes from your vaults, not from the model’s training — no model can know the fictional company Nordpfad.

Example 3 — Attach a PDF and ask

  1. + New Chat, then in the input field the paperclip (Attach File) → quote-hanse-office-furniture.pdf.
  2. Send:
What is the net total of the attached quote, and until when is it valid?

What to look for: the answer names €12,480.00 net and 31 October 2026.

Example 4 — Edit knowledge and find it again

  1. Knowledge Base, vault Nordpfad (sample), type annual leave into the search box.
  2. Open the hit Leave and Absence Policy, Edit.
  3. Add a line of your own at the end, for example:
Team day 2026: everyone meets on 18 September at the Hamburg office.
  1. Save & Close. Wait until the Indexing chip has disappeared.
  2. Ask in a new chat:
When is the Nordpfad team day 2026, and where does it take place?

What to look for: searching for Team day finds the article, and the chat names 18 September at the Hamburg office, with a reference to the leave policy. Whatever you change in the knowledge base, the chat uses from the next question on.

Example 5 — Research across many documents

A normal chat answer relies on the best-matching passages. Research, in contrast, works through many documents one by one and summarises — good for questions whose answer is scattered.

  1. Enable once: Admin → System Settings → tick Allow research mode in chat (saved immediately).
  2. + New Chat, click Research in the input area.
  3. Send:
What additional costs apply when buying property in Dubai? State the transfer fee and the agent's commission as percentages.

What to look for: while “Research running” is shown, you see the phases. After a few minutes the result appears in the chat. It names 4 % of the purchase price as the transfer fee to the Dubai Land Department and 2 % agent’s commission, with the sources underneath, such as Purchase Costs or FAQ Property. → Research mode

If set up: PII protection and Image Studio

  • PII protection: if Presidio is set up (chip PII Shield On in the chat), send Write a short invitation to Thomas Bergmann (thomas.bergmann@example.com) for the Helios kickoff on Tuesday at 10 am in the office. The model only receives placeholders for the name and email address; your answer still shows the real details. → The PII shield, Set up Presidio
  • Image Studio: if an image model is set up, open Image Studio in the left sidebar and try A minimalist logo for a consultancy called Nordpfad, compass motif, blue and white, flat style. → Image Studio

4. Clean up

Section titled “4. Clean up”

When you are done: Admin → Vaults → Delete on Nordpfad (sample) and Dubai (sample). The samples disappear from the knowledge base, search and chat. The Default vault and your own content stay untouched.
