Take knowledge with you as an OKF bundle
UserAn OKF bundle is a vendor-neutral, portable package of Markdown files — knowledge from CompanyWizard that you can take with you and open in any editor, notes app or Markdown viewer. The background is explained in the concept article Open Knowledge Format (OKF).
What’s in it for me?
Section titled “What’s in it for me?”Your knowledge is not trapped inside the platform. An OKF bundle is an open snapshot you can archive, hand on or keep using in your favourite tool — without CompanyWizard.
Getting an OKF bundle
Section titled “Getting an OKF bundle”Export is an admin action. As a user, you ask an administrator for an OKF bundle of the folder or vault you want — see Export an OKF bundle (admin). Note: the export contains only the released classification levels, not necessarily everything you see in the app.
What’s inside and how do I use it?
Section titled “What’s inside and how do I use it?”A bundle is a folder of .md files. Inside:
- An
index.mdper folder serves as the entry point and navigation. - Links between articles work as expected.
- Images sit as files right alongside.
You can open all of it in Obsidian, VS Code or any Markdown tool — it’s plain text, no special software required.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”- The bundle is a snapshot — no live connection to CompanyWizard. Changes in the vault don’t automatically flow into the bundle.
- The access rights (RBAC) are deliberately removed from the export. So only pass a bundle on if its content permits.
