EU AI Act: operator/deployer guidance
Admin⚖️ Not legal advice. This article summarizes the key points in plain language. What is binding are evanto’s legal documents (in particular the deployer notes and the License terms § 7) as well as the applicable version of the AI Act.
When you use CompanyWizard in your company, you are the deployer under the EU AI Act. evanto is the provider of the AI system; if you use your own model access (bring your own key), their providers are the GPAI providers. Some obligations apply to you directly as the deployer.
Your core obligations in brief
Section titled “Your core obligations in brief”- Ensure AI literacy (Art. 4). Users need a basic understanding of AI. → AI literacy for users
- Transparency (Art. 50(1)). Where it is not obvious, indicate that the interaction is with an AI system.
- Disclose published AI content (Art. 50(4)). Label AI-generated texts on matters of public interest as well as AI images/media (“deepfakes”) when publishing. → AI image labeling
- Avoid prohibited practices. No uses prohibited under the AI Act.
- Human oversight. Do not adopt AI outputs unchecked — the final professional decision stays with a human.
- Data protection (GDPR). You remain responsible for the content you enter. → GDPR/DPA
When does your use become high-risk?
Section titled “When does your use become high-risk?”In general office and knowledge use, CompanyWizard is not a high-risk system. The classification follows your purpose of use, however: if you use it for Annex III purposes — such as candidate selection/personnel evaluation, access to essential services, creditworthiness, critical infrastructure — additional deployer obligations may arise (human oversight, logging, informing data subjects, and possibly a data protection impact assessment). When in doubt, consult before such a use.
Who does what?
Section titled “Who does what?”| Topic | evanto (provider) | You (deployer) |
|---|---|---|
| AI literacy | own team | your own users |
| Labeling AI content | technical marking (Image Studio) | disclosure on publication |
| High-risk use | not intended as high-risk | obligations depending on purpose of use |
| Content/data | self-hosted: no access | responsible under data protection law |
Legal status
Section titled “Legal status”The AI Act is being amended by the “Digital Omnibus on AI” (political agreement May 2026, not yet in force as of this draft). Individual deadlines may still change in the final version; what governs is the version in force at the time.
